SRI LALITA TRISATI STOTRAM
SRI LALITA TRISATI STOTRAM, chanted with devotion in all Devi Poojas, occurs in Brahmanda Puranam as part of Lalitopakhyanam in Stotra Khandam. Lord Hayagriva teaches Sage Agastya a number of stotras on Devi and Her attendants, culminating finally in this beautiful Trisati Stotram. Hayagriva, a form of Mahavishnu with horse’s head, is known to embody the highest Gnana.
Trisati Stotram enjoys the distinction that Adi Sankaracharya himself has written a commentary on it. The three hundred names of Devi, mentioned in this Stotram, are in fifteen groups of twenty names each. All the twenty names in a group start with the same letter of alphabet. The fifteen groups are arranged such that the first letters of names in group after group correspond to the fifteen letters of the esoteric Panchadasakshari (fifteen-lettered) mantra, which is the backbone of Sri Vidya worship.

Sri Mukapanchasati – Selected Verses
Sri Mukapanchasati is a stotra on Devi Kamakshi of Kanchipuram by Mukakavi. This stotra of 500 verses is divided into 5 Satakas, groups of 100 verses each. The groups are: Arya Satakam, Padaravinda Satakam Stuti Satakam, Kataksha Satakam and Man- dasmitha Satakam.
The story goes that there was a man born deaf- mute at Kanchipuram, who, uniquely blessed by Sri Kamakshi in unexpected manner with ability to speak, burst into this soulful song of praise of Devi. This Mukakavi (dumb-poet) later adorned the venerable Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham as the 20th Sankara- charya and is generally known as ‘Muka Sankara’ (Muka Sankarendra Saraswati). He is believed to have lived from 398 to 437 A. D.

Devi Kesadi-padavarnanam by Sri Narayana Bhattatri
After getting his disease cured by the grace of Guruvayurappan, Sri Narayana Bhattatri, the celebrated author of Sri Narayaneeyam, composed Sripadasaptati, a book of 70 verses in praise of Devi Durga’s Feet, at Muktisthala in Kerala, where he was blessed with peace of mind and ultimately Mukti. I have published a commentary of Sripadasaptati in English earlier. Sri Bhattatri has also composed this Stotram, Devi Kesadi-padavarnanam in praise of Devi’s form
